About Vendor

Sacramento area Magician Jacques Lord is an award-winning ENTERTAINER with over 40 years experience. Jacques performs comedy close-up magic, parlor magic, and strolling magic with an original flair that will make your event successful and unique. Jacques has degrees from Brown University and Rice University in Geology/Math/Physics. He has lived around the world and is professional, reliable, experienced, parent to four children, and passionate about being a pleasure to his audience. He was formally trained in musical theater by Mario Melodia. Jacques prefers performing sleight of hand with everyday objects rather than with sparkly boxes and exotic props. He is an interesting person who uses magic to uplift and entertain. You are watching your cursor blinking. You are feeling sleepy. Move your cursor to the “hire” button. You want to hire Jacques…. THE INTERVIEW: Interviewer: Do you treat children differently than adults? Jacques: Absolutely. Adults are easier to fool and sometimes they drink, which helps. Children are sober, bright, direct, and unencumbered by a lifetime of opinions and dogmatic beliefs. I prefer to entertain children that are 8 years old or older. Interviewer: Do you make rabbits or doves appear? Jacques: For me animals are pets, not props, and I haven't the time to commit to a pet's care. But some people insist the magician do magic with animals, so I have some 'puppets' that I use and most people enjoy them just as much. Plus, I have no vet bills, no pet food, and no 'meadow muffins' to clean up! IF you HAVE to have a live animal, get Amasingh or Great Scott or Bill Devon-Hutcheon. Uh, I mean, Bill and Scott and Amasingh are not a live animal, but I think they have a rabbit, and they are good! Interviewer: Why do you go by your name only? Why not be 'The Amazing Jacques,' 'Jacques P. Lord, Wizard' or 'Jacques the Totally Gnarly?' Jacques: Because that would be redundant. JACQUES' Corporate Clients include: University of the Pacific, RIX Industries, SCS Engineering, Irwin Jacobs (Qualcomm CEO), Southern California Edison, Polycom, Titan Consulting, Powerwave Technologies, Inc., Steele Canyon Golf Club, UCSD Cancer Research Center, Ca., Assc. of Contract Managers, City of San Diego Engineering Division, The Salk Institute, FirstFuture Financial, MedAmerica, and Sanctuary Hospice Health.
